Blitzway's Black Carbotix Voltron Is Limited to 1,500 Pieces, and Big Bad Toy Store Has It in Stock

Blitzway’s Carbotix line now has a black Legendary Defender Voltron. The Black Ver. is limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide. When we read the Big Bad Toy Store page on October 24, it was in stock at $649.99.

What does black change?

The listing describes a pearl-black coating over dark metallic finishes, inspired by the Black Lion, and says the figure is “clearly differentiated from the original release.” In the photographs the body is black from helmet to boots, with the blue chest plate, blue and yellow on the feet and the red swords left as the colour. Collectors who bought the bright version for those lions will have to decide whether this is the same Voltron.

How does it come apart?

The listing promises transitions between Voltron Mode and Lion Mode, and the photographs show the Black, Blue, Yellow and Green Lions posed on their own and all five together on the display base, each with a sword. The figure is die-cast metal and plastic, with die-cast components in the shoulders and hips, and it stands 17.3 inches tall. The LED light-up eyes need LR621 batteries, and the box does not include them.

What is in the box?

The five lions, five lion-specific swords, the Blazing Sword, two dual swords, a wing shield and two joints for attaching it. There is also a display base with built-in weapon storage, tweezers, a parts separator and instructions.

Where do you buy it?

Our toy page carries the full gallery, and the rest of the line is on the Blitzway Carbotix shelf. The $649.99 is Big Bad Toy Store’s Mint Packaging tier, and that is the tier in stock. The same listing carries a Substandard Packaging tier that we did not price.
